Favorite Embroidery Supplies
There are sooo many embroidery supplies out there! Here are some of my favorites that you can pickup from Amazon. Please note that these are affiliate links, I receive a small commission if you do choose to buy the things linked here. Note that I will only ever recommend things that I have used and love (most of them on a daily basis!). If you do shop my links, thank you! I hope it will help fund some more projects to share with you all :)
I specifically like this style of clamp because I can run my sweatshirt sleeve through it when I am doing sleeve embroidery and it helps manage the excess fabric.
I love these markers for pattern transfer. They write well on stick and stitch paper or directly on my sweatshirt. They're finer tipped than most transfer markers which I love.
I only use high quality embroidery thread- 99% of the thread I use is from DMC. It is color fast (so you don't have to worry about it bleeding when you wash your sweatshirt). You can also buy it in many of your local craft stores or directly from DMC (shipping time can take a while from them though!). Right now this set on amazon is less expensive than it would be for me to buy it in store or directly from DMC.
Note this sweatshirt is oversize. I actually ordered a size smaller than I usually do. I like my sleeve lengths a bit on the shorter side so this is perfect for me. I bought a size small.
This is my favorite water soluble stabilizer. You can draw patterns on it or print them directly onto the paper with your printer. I like to print on plain paper, then cut out the size of this paper I need for the design, tape it over the top of my test sheet of regular paper, then run it back through the printer so that I'm only using the amount I need for the design and not wasting a bunch!
A needle minder is a magnet you put on your project to hold your needle whenever you are taking a break from your work. It's preferred to stabbing your needle into your fabric which may cause holes and is more likely to lead to you inadvertently poking yourself (trust me you'll do that enough haha). And this one is so adorably bookish!
This pack has assorted sizes, and plastic can be easier to deal with sometimes than the wooden hoops.
These needles are amazing. They are just smoother through fabric. I reach for these most often. Who knew I would be a needle snob? These are the assorted thin needles, which are best for using 1-3 strands of thread. If you would like the assorted thick needles for 4-6 strands, click HERE :)
I love these project bags for sewing projects. Easily keep everything you need together if you want to take it out somewhere or put it away for a bit.
This is a patch you put on the back/inside overtop of your stitches when you are done with a patch. It helps to minimize any skin irritation and helps to prevent the stitches from getting pulled. You don't have to use it but many people like to!
